In a recount of the too-close-to-call November 5 state election, Democrat Mark Herring has come out the victor in the race for Attorney General against Republican Mark Obenshein.
Democrats also won for governor (Terry McAuliffe) and lieutenant governor (Ralph Northam) in the November balloting.
The anti-choice Obenshain had introduced legislation that would have required women to report their miscarriages to the police within 24 hours of them happening. He also supported Virginia’s personhood bill and mandatory ultrasound legislation.
Herring, on the other hand, opposes Virginia’s TRAP regulations and efforts to restrict women’s access to birth control.
You can congratulate him on his victory and thank him for supporting women’s reproductive rights here.
